RCIA/RCIC:  The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults/Children

This rite is the process of initiation/conversion for Adults and children to Catholicism.  This program gives instructions to individuals above the age of infant baptism.  Candidates are gradually introduced to aspects of Catholic beliefs, practices and teachings of the Catholic faith.  Catechumens include those who have already been baptized in the Catholic faith, but may have been away from the catholic church for some period of time, unbaptized individuals, or individuals who have been baptized in another Christian faith, but wish to convert to Catholicism.  All individuals seeking the Rite of Christian Initiation will attend a series of scheduled classes which will teach the aspects of Catholicism before being received into full communion with the Catholic Church. Instructors for the RCIA/RCIA class are Joan Thomas and Gwen Lawyer.   For more information on the program, please contact Joan Thomas, the director of Religious Education.
